An insight into the history of Oman with a full day excursion covering Nizwa, Bahla, Jabrin and Tanuf. After an early breakfast, the group departs for the oasis city of Nizwa where the imposing 17th century fort and the bustling souq are the main attractions. On Fridays, a goat and cattle auction is held, providing glimpses of a traditional trade. Next stop is Bahla, now an UNESCO World Heritage Sight and famous for its pottery making. Proceed to the Jabrin castle built in 1675; there linger over the artifacts of the eras gone by. The tour ends with a refreshing visit to the village of Tanuf with its freshwater springs.

 

 
 
 

An extraordinary 4-hour adventure watching the dolphins that frolic in the Oman waters. Every trip cannot guarantee that you will see schools of dolphins, but the warm waters of the coast of Muscat are home to some 22 species of whales and dolphins so chances are you will go home happy anyway. It is an enchanting sight to watch groups of these marine mammals frisking and playing among the waves. The boat departs from the Bandar Rowdah at 0800 hrs. An experience not to be missed! This excursion with a 4 wheel drive takes you to the magnificent Wahiba Sands more appropriately described as a sand sea. This 10,000 square kilometer desert formation has a variety of dunes representing stages of its evolution over millions of years. The Wahiba Sands are home to the fiery Bedouins and it truly impresses the tourist with its shifting dunes and changing colours. The tour includes dune bashing, a visit to a Bedouin house and either a picnic lunch or lunch at a local restaurant. The picturesque Wadi Bani Khalid is in close proximity to the Wahiba Sands and it is possible to extend the tour in order to wander around the lush and green wadi too.

 

 
 
 

This full day program will take you up the Northern Batinah Coast to Rustaq and Nakhal. The first stop is the hot springs of Nakhal where the warm waters of the mineral spring supposedly cure many ailments. Wander up to the source of the springs, then visit the Nakhal Fort surrounded by a 4-kilometer stretch of date plantations. Visit Rustaq Fort, an absolute maze of passages, staircases and rooms at different levels. Later visit the Al Hazm Fort.
